Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally I dislike pony cosplayers doing strictly human interpretations. I think it pulls away from the fact they are in fact ponies. I like the combination of features because it credits it's source while allowing for creativity in the design of the costume itself. Overdone? Absolutely. But, overdone for a reason.
